Canyon Palms update

Our community’s influence in civic affairs grew over the past year since the Organized Neighborhoods of Palm Springs (ONE-PS) recognized a new neighborhood, Canyon Palms. It encompasses Canyon South 1 and about 180 nearby homes. The organization’s board has been working with the police and district City Council member Lisa Middleton on safety and traffic issues.

More residents walking and biking for exercise recently reinforced the danger of La Verne Way and both East and South Palm Canyon having speeding traffic and long stretches with no safe crossings. Want to add your voice? The organization’s nine-member board has only one Canyon South resident, but it has two vacancies. To learn more, email canyonpalmsneighborhood@gmail.com.

Neighborhood organization

We are within the boundaries of the Canyon Palms Neighborhood Organization formed late last year by ONE-PS. The organization set up a website and an e-mail list to help keep residents informed about its activities and to get feedback on neighborhood issues. There are no dues to be a member of Canyon Palms, so the organization doesn’t have the funds to do postal mailings. To join and get on the e-mailing list, please fill out this form online. Having a good representation of Canyon South 1 residents in the organization will ensure its responsiveness to our concerns.
